Clear, cold and windy. No this is not a forecast for Saskatchewan. It is a refreshing morning on the course, again, clear and frosty. We didn't get started until after 11:00 yesterday and I don't expect anything different today. The good news is that the sun is shining and we don't have any snow. We will be closed on New Years Day but will be back for the year on Sunday. Have a safe and happy New Year and I'll see you all next year.

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

As expected, with the clear skies, we have frost this morning. The forecast is for no rain until Sunday so, again, there will be frost in the mornings this week. The course is draining well from the weekend deluge and the sun will be shining so another good day on the course. Call ahead before heading out this morning. See you out there.

Wow!!! Can it rain when it wants to. Five inches over the weekend. There are some puddles on the course but all in all the water is flowing away quite well. The front nine is open for walkers only but the back nine is open with full access for golf cars. The forcast is for some rain today then a clear week ahead. When it is clear overnight we can expect frost delays so phone ahead before heading out. Just for a note of interest, Mt. Washington recieved six feet of snow over the weekend and now has a base of over 17 feet. We are very greatful that we didn't get this weekends precipitation in the form of snow. See you out there.

What a day it was yesterday, sunny and warm, wow. Unfortunately, the weather man/lady has forcast a little different picture for the next few days. Maybe the wind warning and the one inch of light rain will miss us today and the two to three inches forcast for the end of the week will miss us also. Golfers are always hopeful.
We will be closed Christmas day so our hard working staff can spend time with their families.
Everyone at Pheasant Glen would like to wish a merry Christmas to all who frequent our golf course and look forward to seeing you on Boxing Day, trying out your new golf gear.

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

We had only 6mm of rain overnight and the satellite pictures show only spotty showers so the course is still very good to play. There are wind warnings for later on the day which will dry it out even more. All in all, a good day for golf in December. See you out there.

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

The good news is that the showers are coming in from the south so it will be a warm rain....four more shopping days until Christmas, no need to panic yet. Come in to the pro shop and Glenna will help fill all the last minute gift ideas. See you out there.

It was a blustery day in the forty acre wood. That was the start to a popular childrens tale and it seems to be appropriate for todays start. There is just a bit of a snow fall warning for today but then turning to rain. Lucky us. The course is open, see you out there.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

I just checked the radar and the rain has stopped for the day. There is no frost so we should start on time. The long range forcast is for rainy weather for the coming week so, today would be a good day to get some golf in.
It looks like there is a big storm just off the California coast so those heading south for Christmas check the road conditions before travelling.
See you on the course.

Great morning today! No frost, greens are being cut and actually feels warm out there. The greens are faster then ever and are running smooth.

Done your Xmas shopping yet? How about a new 4 wheel Micro cart or Pheasant Glen logo'd golf bag? Oregon mudders are still a hot ticket as well.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

A cold day today. Frost lifted around 10:00am but we stayed on temporary greens until 1:00pm. Got the front nine open but back stayed closed. Want to know how you can join Pheasant Glen for only $325 down? Call the Golf Shop at 250-752-8786.
It is a frosty morning. The weather man is calling for a few showers this morning then a fabulous afternoon. The sun is going to shine for a couple of days and the golf course is in good shape so don't hesitate to come out because the long range forcast is not as rosey. See you out there.
