Xmas eve

No frost this morning...the start will be on time , unless.......I really don't want to say(snow).
We will be closed starting tomorrow until the 2nd of Jan. From all of us at PGGR we wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year and look forward to seeing everyone again in 2016.

Wednesday

10mm of rain overnight and again it cleared off and now we have frost. So far this month we've had 288.544mm (more or less) of rain, when our long term average is 125mm so if you feel like it's never going to stop you have every right to said feelings. And another thing , what's with this rain then clear off and then freeze crap ? when did that start and why are we putting up with it? El Nino? Stupid El Nino. Hopefully we can get out by noon. Hopefully.

Tuesday

Another indication that the morning golf will be delayed , salt trucks on the road. A bit of rain overnight then clearing off and freezing gives us golfers time for an extra couple cups of coffee...11:00 will be the time we're hoping to start, now we'll just have to wait and see if that's possible. I'll update if there is a possibility of getting out earlier.

Monday

It's overcast and trying to rain a bit..  and that's the good news. The start should be on time unless the rain turns to snow. The forecast is for just a bit of precipitation today so put your gear on and get a round in..tomorrow is supposed to be wetter than today. We're going to try get the greens cut and holes changed this morning as well.

Sunday

This winter, ok late fall, hasn't been kind to us golfers and today is no exception. 18mm of rain overnight then it clears up and freezes. Now we have frost and probably won't get out until 11:00ish again. Stupid late fall...now would be a good time to plant some seeds of optimism for a nice January but but but December drowned said seeds...it's Sunday.

Update

There's just a bit of frost hanging on by a thread. The front 9 will be open by 9:00. Enjoy your round.

Saturday

To follow a trend we're starting off the day with frost out there. If the sky clears up we're probably looking at a 10:30ish start time. However, light rain is expected at some point today. If it arrives early enough the first tee time won't be far behind. We'll update around 9:00 when we know a bit more.

Friday, December 18, 2015

Friday

Kind of a rough stretch for golf, wouldn't you say? Just as the greens were thawing out we got some snow and rain and then it froze up overnight. SO, with the frost this morning I'm guessing at a start sometime after 10:30. Hopefully, the greens haven't frozen and we'll be open for regular play, but that's all to be determined. You may want to call the pro shop before venturing out, just in case. Enjoy your day.

Thursday, December 17, 2015

Thursday

It can't be good golfing weather when there is a snowfall warning issued... but what do I know...we got a few holes open yesterday afternoon and they will still be open today so we're moving in the right direction..the start will be on time, unless of course we have any snow issues. Enjoy your round.

Wednesday

0c...not good if you want to golf at 9:00...there is a front just off the coast heading our way so maybe it'll warm up quickly..if it doesn't , 11:00 will be the earliest we'll get out on temps.

Update

It looks like it will be a slow start today. It'll probably be close to 11:30 for a start today.

Kelly

Tuesday

Clear and Cold all night so we have frost..now the difference between this morning and yesterday is that today we have clouds moving in and there are showers forecast so the start time will/could be earlier. I'll update just before 9:00 .

Monday

Did you catch the meteor shower?..there were some nice light shows.. and if you saw said light shows you are aware that it is clear out and being that it's the 14th of December and clear out the chance of frost is good...real good..let's try for a 10:30 start today and let's not be disappointed if it's a bit later than that..and just for good measure let's be happy to see the sun. Let's.

Sunday

Like they say in the old country "yumpin' yesus " ... wasn't that a nice day yesterday?..today will be much nicer, and that's a guarantee. 205mm of rain so far this month and the winds have not been drying winds so we are a bit on the damp side. Thank goodness for winter rules. We'll get you golfing today but which side we'll start on is yet to be determined. Everyone loves surprises. Oh yeah another positive, we'll start on time.

Saturday

No rain overnight? It's been a while. There are still a few puddles on the Glen but the entire course is open and the cart paths are ready for power carts. I'm choosing to believe that today's forecasted rain and wind won't come to fruition and you're invited to do the same. Enjoy your day.

Friday, December 11, 2015

Friday

I think yesterday would have been a complete write-off had I not parlayed a plush Snoopy into an armful of treasure at the staff Christmas party. We had another 23 mm of rain and the wind was not exactly calm. What that means for today is the Glen will remain closed for the time being as a few puddles drain off but the Pines will be open for business. And if you've seen tomorrow's forecast you'll definitely get your golf in today. See you -- and the sun, believe it or not -- out there.

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Thursday

Ok ok ok...uncle...now stop! Rain and wind again today...gusts to 90km/h??..stay away from big trees..it looks like one more storm on Saturday then just your regular run of the mill weather until xmas( ignore the snow icon on the long term forecast). Tomorrow looks nice.

Kelly

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Wednesday

For those of you that were worried that we would dry out too much overnight, you can relax...27mm yesterday and overnight. The sun is supposed to make an appearance today(just to tease us I'm sure). The Pines will be open on time and the Glen may or may not get open today. Don't wait until tomorrow to get your round in as the forecast is for rain for the next 3 days.

I think the ski slopes are happy, the golf course? not so much!!...42mm yesterday and overnight with another 100mm to come over the next week....oh yeah, I almost forgot, we have a wind warning in effect also..just up to 80km/h, no big deal...women's curling is on at 11:00, MLS soccer final at 1:00 and the Colts vs the Steelers at 5:30 all local times on TSN. Enjoy your day.

Saturday

Well done, anyone who played yesterday. You did the right thing.  As for today, we're looking at plenty of rain and wind gusts in the 70-80km/hr range. "Indoor weather", as they say. Fortunately, the Pro Shop is full of potential Christmas gifts, so all is not lost. Enjoy your day.

Friday, December 4, 2015

Friday

If you thought yesterday was ugly just wait until tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day, etc. In other words today is the day for golf this week. Just a sprinkle of rain is expected and only a drying breeze in terms of wind. We'll take it! See you out there.

Thursday, December 3, 2015

Thursday

Double whammy... Rain and wind warnings..rain at times heavy, another 30-50mm expected with SE winds up to 70km/h both easing up late this afternoon...only 5-10mm tomorrow then , 50mm Saturday,25-35 Sunday,50+ Monday,30-40 Tuesday,10-15 Wednesday and just showers Thursday... SIGH...!!!??!!!?!!...remember back in July when we were wishing for rain??...aaaahhhhhgggg.

Kelly

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Wednesday

Finally!!!!!...the Glen has thawed out , the Pines not quite. We'll be playing on greens on the Glen and the start will be on time. We'll monitor the Pines and open it up as soon as possible. Seven storms in the next ten days...sounds like an opportunity to golf in good weather in at least three days over the next week and a half...almost like Palm SpringsšŸ˜‘.

Kelly

Tuesday

It's a blustery day in the 40 acre wood...that's the way to start the day, a quote from one of the classics...well, we had a smidgen of rain overnight which was not near enough to affect any thawing of the greens but the good news is we're getting more rain today...yyyaaayyy!!!...more good news..we will open the Glen on temps today..I don't expect the greens will thaw out today but I'll keep checking throughout the day just in case...enjoy your walk.

Monday, November 30, 2015

Monday

It looks like a great week ahead, rain at times heavy with E and SE winds up to 50 km/h ... that joy isn't going to hit until tomorrow, today , we don't have to worry about golfing so we all can baton down
the hatches and patch our rubber boots to prepare for the next 10 days. Friday looks like it could be a golfing opportunity, maybe...?!?!?!??

Kelly

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Sunday

Don't get excited... the temperature isn't as cold as it has been but it's a long way from thawing out our frozen golf course. It took 5 days to get like this and it will take almost as much time to get back to normal once the temperature stays above freezing overnight. Rain is the answer and even with rain it will take some time.. (now that's a vague timeframe) . Patience, some people have it some people need to acquire it, you know who you are.

Saturday

A day that starts with your car door being frozen shut comes with a few predictions, one of which is that golf is not in the cards. The ground didn't soften up yesterday and it's just as cold this morning, so it looks like another day to get a start on Christmas shopping. See you when we can.

Friday, November 27, 2015

Update

In case anyone is holding on to hope, I'm afraid the ground is still frozen and we'll have to stay closed today.

Friday

It's even colder than at this time yesterday morning and we didn't open at all, so... Yeah, it's not looking good for golf today. Mind you, it is Black Friday today and there could be great deals on space heaters and extension cords. A few thousand of those and we'll be golfing by 9:00. We'll update if that happens; otherwise, enjoy your day and be careful on the roads.

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Down date

We haven't improved any so we will stay closed today...stupid cold weather.

Kelly

Update

Don't get excited yet, the ground( tees fairways greens) are frozen... I'll check again after lunch but it's best if you don't get your hopes up for golf today( tomorrow Saturday or Sunday)

Kelly

Thursday

Sorry for the late post, my phone froze up.?!??!!! -5c we got going on temps by 11:30 yesterday but it's quite a bit colder today. If the fairways and tees don't thaw out we won't open at all. I'll update at 11:00

Kelly

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

Wednesday

-6c ..frosty and frozen..the full moon is nice though. We may get out on temps today...I'll update around 10:00

Kelly

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Tuesday

20mm of rain yesterday and overnight..the cloud cover from said rain cleared off around 5:30 this morning so even though we have frost, it isn't nearly as bad as we saw this past weekend. And what exactly does all this preamble mean? There will be a delay of the start time until 10ish and the greens won't be frozen so we should be playing on all the greens today. Full sunshine all day, get out and enjoy the day.

Kelly

Monday, November 23, 2015

Monday

Cloudy with a few showers ..that sounds way better than clear and cold. The clear and cold is for the next week or so with rain forecast for the first week of December. My how opinions change about clear and sunny weather depending on the time of year... 'golfers' what a fickle bunch. Today is probably the only day this week we play on regular greens so keep that in mind if you're on the fence about playing today. Barring any unforeseen circumstances the start will be on time,on greens.

Kelly

Sunday, November 22, 2015

Sunday

-1c and brilliantly clear skies and of course frost. I wish it would cloud over and rain..only at night though and it could warm up to 20c during the day ...then it wouldn't have to cloud over and rain... ok I wish it was warmer... short and sweet. Probably just temps today, just like yesterday (11:30 start on temps..)? We'll see.

Kelly

Saturday, November 21, 2015

Saturday

It has been below zero since I went to bed last night and is currently -2 at the Pro Shop and -5 (no exaggeration) down at the driving range tee. Obviously, there will be quite a wait today, certainly longer than yesterday's 11:00 start. The greens feel like concrete (still no exaggeration), so we may have to start the day on temps when the frost comes off the rest of the course. We'll play that one by ear.
At least it's not raining?

Friday, November 20, 2015

Friday

Well, in terms of temperature we're starting today a couple of degrees on the wrong side of 0. I have to assume we'll be shooting for a start closer to 11:00 than yesterday's 10:00. We only had frost yesterday; today we have Frost. See you out there as soon as we can.

Thursday, November 19, 2015

Thursday

It's clear out so there is no surprise that there's frost... It's not near as cold as yesterday so logically the delay won't be as long. Now to get whoever is in charge of the weather to cooperate..?!??!? If you're warmed up and ready to go by 10:00 you shouldn't be far off the mark .. If something happens that we start quite a bit earlier than that I'll update.

Kelly

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Update

Well so much for bright sunshine... This high cloud doesn't help any either...we won't be starting earlier than 10:30 and 11:00 is probably closer to the truth... Well cleared up the frost situation for another day.

Kelly

Wednesday

-1c with a bit of a breeze... Not what we're used to that's for sure. If the sun shines bright right off the bat we might get going around the 10:30 mark, might being the key word. I'll update around 9:00 for a clearer picture .

Kelly

Sunday, November 15, 2015

Sunday

After Thursday's light mist (35mm), I guess winter golf is here...the sun is supposed to shine today but at present it's cloudy(no frost). Monday and Tuesday  are supposed to be a bit damp so maybe today is the day for your golf unless this cloud cover becomes more than expected...Arizona is in Seattle for the late game today, that should be good. Enjoy your day.

Kelly

Friday, November 13, 2015

Friday

Well, that was fun. Another 3.5 inches of rain and we would have 5 inches of rain! As it is, our meager amount has left us with the odd puddle. We're definitely playable, though, so we'll see you out there today.

Power carts will be permitted today (with the assumption that everyone realizes how easily damage is incurred at this time of year when carts leave the path). Please  join me in a rousing round of Carts Paths Only. Say it loud and say it often.

We'll start on the Pines as it is the drier side of the course so far. By the time you make it around to the Glen it should have drained off some and gotten to look a lot more appealing.
Enjoy your round.

Thursday, November 12, 2015

Thursday

Wind gusts up to 80kph and 30mm of rain , wow, that's a beautiful day ahead. The good news?..we have no frost. I wonder what time the early matinee for the new Bond is playing. Enjoy your day.

Wednesday

You'd think that after a night of rain there would be no chance of frost in the morning..on most occasions you'd be correct but, on this particular morning, not so much! It cleared up and the frost is forming as I type.. It shouldn't be near as bad as yesterday so there might not be a delay or if there is, not too long. Sun today and storm tomorrow, just sayin'. See you out there.

Kelly

Tuesday

When the thermometer reads a balmy 0c we all know there's frost at the golf course, right?,right. Now the question of the morning is "when will the frost be gone ?"( do you put the question mark first or the exclamation marks?, Aagghh I should of paid attention in school on the day they told us that). The answer to the aforementioned question is ?...that's a hard one to nail down exactly especially since we haven't had frost in such a long time and the time has changed and the forecast is calling for rain showers this afternoon so there will be clouds rolling in and what time will they arrive?, is the sun going to shine brightly when it rises or will there be a bit of fog or cloud cover?.. Holy I'm stressed out already..10:00 , let's go with 10:00 and if it's later you'll have to wait and if it's earlier you'll be late..we'll know better later. Way to much typing ,this early in the morning, for me.. Enjoy your day.

Kelly

Things are quite frosty this morning here at the course. Unless some of that magical melting fog rolls in I would assume we'll be delayed until around 9:30. Think warm thoughts and enjoy your round.

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Thursday

Clear and cold to start the day..yes, cold.!! There is frost, not only on the pumpkin but on the grass as well. If you plan your warm up routine to start just after 9:00 you won't be far off the mark for the start time. Sunshine for the rest of the day, enjoy your round.

Kelly

Friday, October 16, 2015

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Thursday

It's a couple of degrees cooler this morning than yesterday morning so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the delay of the start time will be longer today...I know, crazy bold...9:30 won't be far off the mark to warm up today. Enjoy the sunshine.

Wow, this is late in the year to be wiping off the dust on the blog site. We usually have frost delays in September.. Speaking of frost delays, we are going to have one today. Monday, April 13, 2015

Another cloudy frost free morning. .there is a threat of rain (sounds ominous, oohhh) so bring your umbrella. I see daytime highs of 18c forecast for the start of next week..lets hope that forecast is correct. ..gusty SE winds this morning which is good for the Glen, switching to gusty SW winds this afternoon which is good for the Pines...the best of situations, every hole down wind. Thursday

I know, when I have to scrape my windshield,  that things don't look good for starting on time...yes we have frost...we got going around 8:30 yesterday so we'll set that as our target for today's start...it looks like rain for tomorrow so maybe get out today and get in a dry round...we'll see you out there.

Another! mild morning...it looks like the morning showers are over ...there are showers forecast for later and it looks like they could be quite heavy at times...when the wind turns to the east,  rain won't be to far away...umbrella time.

Kelly

Friday, March 27, 2015

Friday

Another mild morning to start us off...the forecast is for rain later, how much later (1:00pm) has yet to be determined. Enjoy your day..bring an umbrella just in case.

Kelly

Thursday, March 26, 2015

Thursday

It's a mild (no frost) morning to start the day...I don't think you'll need to slather on the sunscreen today but if you have some in your bag you'll at least be prepared. .play well.

Kelly

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

Wednesday

7c feels like 4c...wind out of the southeast gusting to 32kph...#2 Glen and #7 Pines should play easy today, down wind and all...dress in layers. The good news? ..no frost.

Kelly

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Tuesday

0c...clear and cold this morning. ..yes we have frost even though you don't have it at your place... plan to start your warm up routine around 9:30 this morning and you won't be too far off the start time. The rest of the day will be sunny...play well.

Kelly

Monday, March 23, 2015

Monday

Clear skies overnight with clouds moving in at daybreak = frost in spots...now is it coming or going...the satellite pictures show heavier cloud cover almost upon us so I'd say the frost is  'going'...the delay in the start won't be long,  if any....

Kelly

Sunday, March 22, 2015

Sunday

The clouds are our friends again this morning as there is no frost today...the start will be on time...showers are forecast for this afternoon and rain mid week but we all know that that could change at any minute, for the better of course...play well.

Kelly

Saturday, March 21, 2015

Saturday

It looks like today's forecast is much better than yesterday's reality. We're looking at sunshine today and it may be the best day for golf in the coming week, so come on out and take advantage of the vitamin D. Have a great round.

Friday, March 20, 2015

Friday

There was, is and will be rain. Heck, that's why raincoats were invented. Kind of a wet one today but things get better tomorrow.

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Thursday

9c and cloudy...the start will be on time today..the only downside is that an umbrella is an accessory that you'll want to have at hand for your round today and for the next few days as well....spring is around the corner. ....

Kelly

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

Update

Looks like we'll get going at 9:30...

Kelly

Wednesday

Another clear night and yes,  another frosty morning. ..the clouds aren't supposed to roll in until later today so no early warm up  today, like we got yesterday...9:30 is still a good target for the start time...I'll update closer to 9:00

Kelly

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Update

The clouds rolled in and we've warmed up a bit...rhe start will be close to on time

Kelly

Tuesday

Another frosty morning is at hand...there are clouds moving in so we might warm up a bit sooner than yesterday, might,  being the key word... a 9:30 start is the goal today...  showers are forecast to arrive around dinner time so lots of time for golfing without an umbrella today. Play well.

Kelly

Monday, March 16, 2015

Update

It looks like 9:30 will be the earliest we'll get going today, ir could be closer to 9:45 though...patience

Monday

Not a cloud in the sky...those are the horrible words you don't want to hear if you want to golf right away this morning. ..yes we have frost..let's set a 9:30 target for starting and see how close we come to hitting it...update at 9:00

Kelly

Sunday, March 15, 2015

Sunday

5c and cloudy. ..can it get any better than that? ..I think not...another start on time...what more can a person ask for in Canada in the winter...play well

Kelly

Saturday, March 14, 2015

Saturday

It's a bit breezy and wet to start the day but it looks like it's due to ease off later this morning. We may even see some more sunshine if we're lucky. Have fun out there.

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Thursday

Some rain finally came through town and there's a chance of light rain today. Once again, though, that means the start will be on time, so who's complaining. Have a good round.

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Wednesday

There could be a few showers today but that means the start will be on time. Play well.

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Tuesday

A foggy start to the day but at least that means no frost. The start will be on time by the looks of things. Have your umbrellas on hand for the rest of the week (just in case). Have a good round.

Saturday, March 7, 2015

Saturday

Pretty much the same scenario as yesterday. Clear and cold. The first tee was about 9:00 and today's shouldn't be far off. Have fun.

Friday, March 6, 2015

Friday

Another chilly start to the day. The Frost-o-Meter is giving "somewhere around 9:00" as a start time. If it's wrong we'll recycle it and buy a new one. Enjoy your round.

Thursday, March 5, 2015

UPDATE

The frost has left us. First tee will be in about ten minutes.

Thursday

With zero degrees to be seen on the thermometer...frost it is. It's a couple degrees "warmer" than yesterday, so if all goes well the start time won't be pushed back quite as far today. However, there's plenty of time for coffee and donuts before you have to start the car. We'll update in a couple hours when things start to warm up.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Update

We'll be starting in 20 min.s...enjoy your day

Kelly

Wednesday

Brilliant. ..the one word that best describes the full moon this morning and by now we all know what that means,  at this time of year..clear and cold...yes cold, -3c is cold...the frost will linger longer today than yesterday so we won't get started until after 10:00...patience.

Kelly

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

Update

Sunshine is doing its job, but slowly. ...we should be going just after 9:30

Kelly

Tuesday

-2c ...we have frost...it looks like we will have a delay to the start today...there are some clouds moving in, now whether that helps anything has yet to be determined. ..check for an update around 9:00

Kelly

Monday, March 2, 2015

Monday

4c and cloudy...a great start to the week... just enough rain overnight to keep the dust down and the start will be on time..ain't life grand.

Kelly

Sunday, March 1, 2015

Update

The clouds moved in and the frost is gone...just heading out to cut the greens so we should be ready to go just  before 10:00

Sunday

-2c...now that, as everyone knows, is a problem for us at the golf course. First, we have frost on the greens and that's going to delay the start...a given..second, now the twist, the greens are going to be frozen. When the frost melts the greens will still be frozen soo...we may have to start on temps. There is a slight chance of rain this morning sometime so the clouds are going to move in and either warm up everything enough to lets us golf or just enough cloud to keep the sun from warming us up and keep us in frost longer..complicated I know..check for an update at 9:30 and that could be sooner with a quick warmup situation. .and it's only Sunday.

Kelly

Saturday, February 28, 2015

Update on frost conditions: still some frost on shaded areas and a few greens are still frozen. Hoping for a 10:00am start.

Saturday

The clouds have moved on and the frost has settled in. Plenty of time for an extra coffee or two as the start time will be pushed back by a bit. Think warm thoughts, please.

Friday, February 27, 2015

Friday

Well, after an inch of rain there are puddles here and there to contend with this morning, said Captain Obvious. They're disappearing by the minute, though, so don't be too dismayed. The sun is returning later on and the next few days look pretty good. Who says the west coast isn't the best coast?

Thursday, February 26, 2015

Thursday

6c and cloudy...another nice morning. .we will start on time...the showers aren't supposed to roll in until later this afternoon and the chance they will amount to anything is low...all next week is sunshine..in like a lamb? ...just asking. .

Kelly

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Wednesday

Cloudy and no frost...another great morning for golf on the west coast..we will be starting on time and,  for the first time in recent memory, on  fresh cut fairways in February. Our friends and family to the east of us might not be as happy with our situation as we are but...such is life. Play well.

Kelly

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Update

The cloud cover warmed us up...the frost is gone...we are open

Tuesday

We have frost...10:00ish is our target start time...the rain that was forecast has been pushed back to the end of the week...let's see how that works out...sunscreen. .

Kelly

Monday, February 23, 2015

Monday

It looks like an exact repeat of yesterday, maybe a degree warmer. .the start will be close to 10:00, then nothing but sunshine and a high of 10c...we'll take it.

Kelly

Sunday, February 22, 2015

Sunday

-1c feels like -1c...I know what the weather network is getting at when they write that in but really? in the home country where it's-31 with a light breeze and it feels like -43 that's an important bit of information, -1 and feels like -1? not so much...what is important here is that we have frost and the start to your day of golf will be delayed...we got going just before 10:00 yesterday so I'm guessing we won't start earlier today...the sun will be shining. .sunscreen? ..

Kelly

Saturday, February 21, 2015

Saturday

FROST! At least that means the sun is shining. I guess how bright and strong said sun shines will determine the start time this morning; I'm going to guess 9:30 while stressing the word guess. See you asap.

Friday, February 20, 2015

Friday

It's a bit chilly this morning but the remnants of yesterday's clouds have kept the frost at bay. It looks like the start will be on time and the sun will be coming along shortly. Have a great round.

Thursday, February 19, 2015

Thursday

My my my, how fast a weather forecast can change. ..it's supposed to rain today...where did that come from? ...we have frost at the moment so the clouds haven't been around for long...the best guess for today's start time will be near yesterday's guess of a slight delay...how's that for clarity and precision? ...bring an umbrella.

Kelly

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

Wednesday

It's cloudy at present but we do have a touch of frost so a slight delay should be expected..the long range forecast changed to nothing but sun for the next 2 weeks which is a bit different than yesterday's forecast..trending in the right direction I'd say...has anyone contacted friends or family back east and complained to them that allergy season has started already with the flowers blooming and all...if not maybe do so, they need cheering up

Kelly

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Tuesday

Another clear frosty morning. ...the fog rolled in yesterday and melted the frost by 9:30 but I'm not so sure if that's going to happen today. ..aim for a 10:00ish start and you won't be far off the mark no matter what mother nature brings...

Kelly

Monday, February 16, 2015

Monday

I experienced some technical difficulties yesterday, hence no blog,  but today everything is back to normal...there was no need for the snide remarks about that, thank you very much..at present the frost has settled in, now it looks like there might be some cloud cover coming in so that could be good news (if it warms up enough to melt said frost)or it could be bad news (if it blocks the sun from melting, again, said frost). Ooohhh what scenario is it going to be? Exciting stuff...If you start milling about the pro shop in that 9:30ish range the wait shouldn't be too long to get going...maybe...

Kelly

Saturday, February 14, 2015

Saturday

I've had my eye open for rain this morning and there isn't a drop to be found. Let it continue...
See you out there.

Friday, February 13, 2015

Friday

After another 1/2" of rain it looks like the sun is coming out...later. Like, tomorrow. Some more showers are expected today but at least the start will be on time. Enjoy your round.

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Thursday

MAKE IT STOP! !!!..it's raining again. ..showers for the rest of the day...enjoy your round and if you go around twice today you should definitely phone the crisis hot line because you do have a problem!

Kelly

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Wednesday

The satellite image is showing that it should be raining and it's not... is it good luck or some twilight zone mumbo jumbo? ??...anyway, the start will be on time.. as for the rain,  let's just see how long our luck holds up (personally, I don't believe in that twilight zone malarkey( much) ( maybe just a little). Play well.

Kelly

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Tuesday

It looks like the deluge is over...100+mm since Thursday...that's enough already...sunshine this afternoon so maybe this is a golf day after all...the start will be on time...  we'll see you out there.

Kelly

Monday, February 9, 2015

Monday

Some overnight showers have kept the course from drying out too much thankfully, we wouldn't want that now would we...the start will be on time...the rain forecast for today looks spotty so you never know, it could miss us...then again? ??..at least it's warm.

Kelly

Sunday, February 8, 2015

Sunday

Wasn't that just a  'special' weekend...and don't say we needed the rain because we didn't. ..75+mm and showers lingering until Tuesday..yeahhh ..  I guess the good news is that there isn't any frost so you can start on time...it's dampish so come prepared.

Kelly

Saturday, February 7, 2015

Saturday

Another 1/2" of the wet stuff didn't exactly help the golfer's cause. The Glen will need some time to drain before it opens for play. The Pines, however, is looking very good with just the odd puddle to dodge. We'll see you back there.

Friday, February 6, 2015

Friday

WARNING: Well over 2" of rain in the past two days MAY reduce distance off the tee. Instead of counting on lots of roll you'll just have to swing harder and carry the wet spots. Don't worry, it can't last forever. See you out there?

Thursday, February 5, 2015

Thursday

I've heard it all now...'a long episode of rain, at times heavy'. I can picture a prim and proper Englishman with a bowler hat and walking stick or even some of the elder royals (like I know my elder royals) saying that but who in Canada would write such drivel..'a long episode of rain, at times heavy'...they mock us...'bah humbug'.

Kelly

Wednesday

Mild this morning so another day with the start on time...a wonderful winter I'd say..it's supposed to be wet for the next few days. ..oh well, rain forest and all that... enjoy today's golf

Kelly

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Tuesday

Another mild morning is upon us so the start will be on time...the forecast for the rest of the week is dampish to put it mildly..today will be the dry day until maybe Monday. ..sneek another round in before the deluge. ..play well

Kelly

Monday, February 2, 2015

Monday

A bit of a breeze out of the east and the threat of some rain over the next hour or so...not a bad start to the day I'd say...at least the start will be on time...whatever you do don't look at the forecast for the rest of the week...how does someone come up with an 80% chance of 150mm over 4 days.?..seems like an odd set of numbers. ..probably just me..hope I didn't ruin the surprise.

Kelly

Sunday, February 1, 2015

Sunday

Another mild morning ahead and it looks like the rain that was forecast has already passed us by. The start will be on time so there's another great day on the course coming up.

Kelly

Saturday, January 31, 2015

Saturday

It's cool enough for frost but the fog has done us a favour and kept it away. Unless it clears off quickly the start should be on time - good thing, too, as there are rumours of some showers this afternoon. Enjoy your round.

Friday, January 30, 2015

Friday

If you've looked out your window already you'll have seen car-shaped ice cubes outside. It's below zero and yes, there certainly is frost. It's a colder than previous frosty mornings this week, so  I doubt we'll get going before around 10:30. It will be a beautiful afternoon, though. Have fun out there.

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Thursday

There is no frost this morning, so the start will be on time. Enjoy your day.

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Wednesday

Due to clear skies overnight we have frost this morning. Let's think warm thoughts and hope the delay isn't too long.

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Tuesday

We've avoided the frost this morning thanks to a few well-placed clouds. It looks like the start will be on time and the rest of the week has golf written all over it. See you out there.

Saturday, January 24, 2015

Saturday

Unless you're trying to rid yourself of a snap hook the only thing to battle with today is a bit of light rain. No big deal. The start will be on time. Have fun.

A bit of light rain for today but, as always, it beats a frost delay. Enjoy your round.

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Thursday

There is no frost on the course and the overnight showers are long gone. The start will be on time. Have a great round.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Wednesday

Another frosty start to the day; however, that means great weather a bit later in the morning. The start time will likely be a bit delayed but I doubt it will be much longer than an hour. See you on the course.

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Tuesday

And a frosty day it is. 10:30ish is my guess for a start time. Should be great after, though. Have fun.

Friday, January 16, 2015

Friday

After a rainy night the stars are out in the morning. That only means one thing at this time of year: frost. Let's shoot for a 10:00 (ish) start time with the emphasis on "ish".  Once we're underway it should be a great day for a round.

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Kelly

Monday, January 5, 2015

Monday

The frost in the greens is being quite stubborn and not leaving as fast as we'd like. We'll start on time, on temps today and open the greens when we can. There was 20mm of rain overnight and more expected today so there will be some wet areas around...the rest of the week looks good though...enjoy your walk today.

Kelly

Sunday, January 4, 2015

Sunday

It looks like the storm that was forecast is just arriving. ..the ground is still frozen so no golf to start the day...the 25-50mm of rain expected will thaw out the course so plan for golf tomorrow or Tuesday when the rain stops...the rest of the week looks like it's going to be warm(ish) so you'll be able to try out those new clubs you got for Xmas. ..baton down the hatches the wind is picking up.

Saturday, January 3, 2015

Saturday

As we were yesterday we're currently staring at frozen ground and waiting patiently for rain - warm, thawing, "Hawaiian" rain. Where's El NiƱo when you need him? (Not you, Nino...different guy.)

Friday, January 2, 2015

Friday

Happy New Year (unless you were really looking forward to golf today)!

Current conditions: frozen greens, frosty ground, light snow falling.
I suppose there's a chance of golf on temps this afternoon if the snow turns to rain in an awful hurry; however, that could be leftover holiday optimism, so give the pro shop a call before venturing out. See you ASAP.
