Xmas eve

No frost this morning...the start will be on time , unless.......I really don't want to say(snow).
We will be closed starting tomorrow until the 2nd of Jan. From all of us at PGGR we wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year and look forward to seeing everyone again in 2016.

Wednesday

10mm of rain overnight and again it cleared off and now we have frost. So far this month we've had 288.544mm (more or less) of rain, when our long term average is 125mm so if you feel like it's never going to stop you have every right to said feelings. And another thing , what's with this rain then clear off and then freeze crap ? when did that start and why are we putting up with it? El Nino? Stupid El Nino. Hopefully we can get out by noon. Hopefully.

Tuesday

Another indication that the morning golf will be delayed , salt trucks on the road. A bit of rain overnight then clearing off and freezing gives us golfers time for an extra couple cups of coffee...11:00 will be the time we're hoping to start, now we'll just have to wait and see if that's possible. I'll update if there is a possibility of getting out earlier.

Monday

It's overcast and trying to rain a bit..  and that's the good news. The start should be on time unless the rain turns to snow. The forecast is for just a bit of precipitation today so put your gear on and get a round in..tomorrow is supposed to be wetter than today. We're going to try get the greens cut and holes changed this morning as well.

Sunday

This winter, ok late fall, hasn't been kind to us golfers and today is no exception. 18mm of rain overnight then it clears up and freezes. Now we have frost and probably won't get out until 11:00ish again. Stupid late fall...now would be a good time to plant some seeds of optimism for a nice January but but but December drowned said seeds...it's Sunday.

Update

There's just a bit of frost hanging on by a thread. The front 9 will be open by 9:00. Enjoy your round.

Saturday

To follow a trend we're starting off the day with frost out there. If the sky clears up we're probably looking at a 10:30ish start time. However, light rain is expected at some point today. If it arrives early enough the first tee time won't be far behind. We'll update around 9:00 when we know a bit more.

Friday

Kind of a rough stretch for golf, wouldn't you say? Just as the greens were thawing out we got some snow and rain and then it froze up overnight. SO, with the frost this morning I'm guessing at a start sometime after 10:30. Hopefully, the greens haven't frozen and we'll be open for regular play, but that's all to be determined. You may want to call the pro shop before venturing out, just in case. Enjoy your day.

Thursday

It can't be good golfing weather when there is a snowfall warning issued... but what do I know...we got a few holes open yesterday afternoon and they will still be open today so we're moving in the right direction..the start will be on time, unless of course we have any snow issues. Enjoy your round.

Wednesday

0c...not good if you want to golf at 9:00...there is a front just off the coast heading our way so maybe it'll warm up quickly..if it doesn't , 11:00 will be the earliest we'll get out on temps.

Update

It looks like it will be a slow start today. It'll probably be close to 11:30 for a start today.

Tuesday

Clear and Cold all night so we have frost..now the difference between this morning and yesterday is that today we have clouds moving in and there are showers forecast so the start time will/could be earlier. I'll update just before 9:00 .

Monday

Did you catch the meteor shower?..there were some nice light shows.. and if you saw said light shows you are aware that it is clear out and being that it's the 14th of December and clear out the chance of frost is good...real good..let's try for a 10:30 start today and let's not be disappointed if it's a bit later than that..and just for good measure let's be happy to see the sun. Let's.

Sunday

Like they say in the old country "yumpin' yesus " ... wasn't that a nice day yesterday?..today will be much nicer, and that's a guarantee. 205mm of rain so far this month and the winds have not been drying winds so we are a bit on the damp side. Thank goodness for winter rules. We'll get you golfing today but which side we'll start on is yet to be determined. Everyone loves surprises. Oh yeah another positive, we'll start on time.

Saturday

No rain overnight? It's been a while. There are still a few puddles on the Glen but the entire course is open and the cart paths are ready for power carts. I'm choosing to believe that today's forecasted rain and wind won't come to fruition and you're invited to do the same. Enjoy your day.

Friday

I think yesterday would have been a complete write-off had I not parlayed a plush Snoopy into an armful of treasure at the staff Christmas party. We had another 23 mm of rain and the wind was not exactly calm. What that means for today is the Glen will remain closed for the time being as a few puddles drain off but the Pines will be open for business. And if you've seen tomorrow's forecast you'll definitely get your golf in today. See you -- and the sun, believe it or not -- out there.

Thursday

Ok ok ok...uncle...now stop! Rain and wind again today...gusts to 90km/h??..stay away from big trees..it looks like one more storm on Saturday then just your regular run of the mill weather until xmas( ignore the snow icon on the long term forecast). Tomorrow looks nice.

Wednesday

For those of you that were worried that we would dry out too much overnight, you can relax...27mm yesterday and overnight. The sun is supposed to make an appearance today(just to tease us I'm sure). The Pines will be open on time and the Glen may or may not get open today. Don't wait until tomorrow to get your round in as the forecast is for rain for the next 3 days.

Saturday

Well done, anyone who played yesterday. You did the right thing.  As for today, we're looking at plenty of rain and wind gusts in the 70-80km/hr range. "Indoor weather", as they say. Fortunately, the Pro Shop is full of potential Christmas gifts, so all is not lost. Enjoy your day.

Friday

If you thought yesterday was ugly just wait until tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day, etc. In other words today is the day for golf this week. Just a sprinkle of rain is expected and only a drying breeze in terms of wind. We'll take it! See you out there.

Wednesday

Finally!!!!!...the Glen has thawed out , the Pines not quite. We'll be playing on greens on the Glen and the start will be on time. We'll monitor the Pines and open it up as soon as possible. Seven storms in the next ten days...sounds like an opportunity to golf in good weather in at least three days over the next week and a half...almost like Palm Springs😑.

Tuesday

It's a blustery day in the 40 acre wood...that's the way to start the day, a quote from one of the classics...well, we had a smidgen of rain overnight which was not near enough to affect any thawing of the greens but the good news is we're getting more rain today...yyyaaayyy!!!...more good news..we will open the Glen on temps today..I don't expect the greens will thaw out today but I'll keep checking throughout the day just in case...enjoy your walk.
