Ho-Ho-Holy Guacamole, the frost is upon us. It's hard to say when the course will open, so I'd recommend giving the Pro Shop a call around 10:30 for an update. If you don't get out today have a Merry Christmas and we'll see you in the new year.

It's a bit breezy and showers are expected today, but what that says to the golf-minded is No Frost! The start will be on time, so we'll see you out there.

The trouble with this time of the year (winter, duh)is that when the stars are visible,  frost is also. Now it's just a guessing game...what minute of what hour will the frost melt? 10:30ish would be my guess for today and like the weather person, there is no penalty for being wrong. Stupid frost! ! Oh yah, the days are getting longer now, spring is just around the corner.

A bit of rain yesterday and overnight but nothing compared to last week. The skies are clear and there is no frost (yet) so the start should be on time. Golf on the first day of winter? what is better than that..rhetorical question. ..play well

Today we're offering a chance at scratch golf. Yes, there are rain and wind warnings but par waits for no one. Come out and grab it.

With half an inch of rain yesterday there won't be a lot of roll on your drives today. However, I guarantee it will be a drier day today than tomorrow, so come on out and get some exercise while the puddles are small.

The stars are visible. ..there's  frost on the course...rain is supposed to be coming...if it starts raining before 9:00 the start will be on time... if not it won't...stupid frost, it ruins everything! !!

4c with the odd drop of rain...not unusual for this time of year..the greens have thawed from yesterday's frost so it's a go for golf at 9:00...layers and maybe an umbrella. .

-3c..what can I say...oh, the water is draining off the course nicely. ..we won't be cutting fairways for a day or two yet but we're getting closer. The frost should be gone around 11:00ish and when we get going,  the Glen will be in play. The radar shows some showers heading this way so if that happens the start will be earlier than mentioned previously. It's so confusing this time of year. Personally, I like summer better.

With the water flowing out of here at a record pace we will be able to use carts on the Pines today...cart paths only of course.

Temperature hovering around 0c, bad news...no rain until Tuesday, good news...the water level on the course has dropped 14 inches, good news..put that all together and you get, frost and when that lifts we'll be playing the Pines with no carts...stupid 145mm of rain in December. Start time 11:00ish? Maybe.

Apparently, five inches of rain in four days doesn't drain away overnight. Who knew?

There are still impassable areas on The Glen, so it will remain closed for now. The Pines, however, will be available for play to those with rubber socks and prudent course management. Power carts will not be available today, unfortunately.

Another 28mm of rain yesterday didn't exactly help the golfer's cause. We'll keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow but...but...

Another 25mm overnight for a total of 113mm so far in December. ..that's a lot of water..more coming today..depending on what happens today we could be open Saturday...depending...

From now on when the Weather Network says  'an incredible series of storms is coming' I'm going to believe them...wow..over 75mm of rain and wind gusts this morning in the 70kph range...nasty...it's supposed to calm down some this afternoon but we have to get rid of all the water so tomorrow might even be iffy for golf...patience. ..I'm getting sick of that word.

I guess when it's 11c at this time of year we have to expect some sort of extraordinary weather  'event'...well we have an  'event' happening this morning. ..it's a tad breezy with  showers in the area...35mm overnight and more to come.. another storm coming in tonight with similar conditions as the one we're experiencing now..relax, stay dry and think about the golf you'll play on the weekend.

8c...a very mild morning..oh yah..there is a bit of a wind and rainfall warn issued for the next four or five days..when the weather network uses the term  'incredible series of storms' you kind of know something is coming...who knows? it might miss us...leave the umbrella, gusts to 75 kph..just sayin'

Jack (Frost) has left the property. ..we have all the greens open on both nines and they will be freshly cut and rolled for this auspicious occasion...it's supposed to be warm all week so shed a layer before you head out...the little bit of precipitation forecast is of secondary importance ...enjoy your round and we'll see you out there.

Baby steps, baby steps...

The rain that was supposed to come yesterday turned out to be "rain", so there is still more thawing to be done out there. However, it's been mild enough that the practice and putting greens will be open today along with at least seven of the greens on the front nine. Have fun out there.

It'll take a lot more than last night's shower to thaw out the greens but at least you can get a tee in the ground today. We should have the front nine open on temps today, so come on out if a bit of rain doesn't bother you.

-1c...it tried to rain a bit earlier but it didn't amount to anything so we're still frozen ...showers this afternoon and rain tomorrow. .hopefully we'll get open this weekend. ..it all depends on how stubborn mother nature gets.

The temperature is moving in the right direction but just slower than most of us would like. Starting Thursday, above normal temperatures at least until the middle of December. ..you heard it here first.!!! Maybe golfing by the weekend. ...patience. .
