Sunday
It's good to be back...it looks like an on time start today and the water has receded so both nines will be open. Enjoy your round.

Saturday
The course continues to drain after the deluge of the other day. The Pines is now open to power carts but the Glen needs a bit longer before it opens for play.
We're being told to expect light rain and a breeze this morning and some showers this afternoon. The next few days look much better though. Sunshine is on its way.

Friday
Not much has changed since yesterday's rather flooded scenario. It takes a while for that much water to drain away, especially with the golf course being the collection area for quite a bit of surrounding land. That said, it'll be another day of golf on the Pines as the Glen isn't yet traversable. Power carts will have to remain parked for the time being. Don't forget your umbrella and windbreaker this morning!

Thursday
Should I be concerned that two of each species just walked by in an orderly fashion? It's wet out there, folks.
We had 55 mm of rain yesterday and last night. Actually, 55.378 mm to be precise, or 2.18 inches for you American readers. It'll come as no surprise that the Glen is closed for the time being and the Pines is open to only foot traffic. The good news is that it should be a gorgeous day to play, no matter what the limitations. Let the draining begin...

Wednesday
I wasn't expecting to be able to see stars this morning but there they are. The big rain has been pushed back to this afternoon and tonight, leaving this morning as the best time to get your round in. There's even a bit of a drying wind to help us out. Have fun out there.
Tuesday, January 26, 2016
Tuesday
The rain is supposed to let up around lunch today, and if you've seen tomorrow's forecast you'll know that this afternoon is the time to get in a round of golf. See you out there.

Sunday
We have thick frost and a spectacular moon this morning. There aren't many clouds to block the sunlight (at the moment), so if it stays that way I'm guessing the start will be around 10:30? Enjoy your round.

Saturday
Now this is more like it. The start will be on time today and the sun is due to shine, possibly right through Monday. Throw in an enchilada and a couple cervezas and you'll think you're in Mexico. Welllll...

Friday
We had over 22mm of rain yesterday, so there will be the odd puddle to contend with this morning. We're getting closer to a sunny day, though - all is not lost. And tomorrow looks to be even better. I'm sure we'll see you out there.

Wednesday
Another chilly night in January has left us with frost this morning. The first tee times will likely be delayed but it's tough to say how long. Yesterday we got going shortly after 10:00, so that should be a pretty safe bet today. Enjoy your round.

Tuesday
As the stars were out last night you may have already guessed what that means. FROST is upon us. I assume it will be at least 10:30 before we're ready to go. It all depends on whether the clouds get in the way of the direct sunlight, as usual. We should have a decent couple of days coming up, though, so get in your golf before the rain hits on Thursday.

Saturday
Well, I'll say this: there will be no frost delay. Just some sideways rain to start the day. It's due to taper off in the afternoon, though, so we'll see you whenever the conditions suit your game.

Course Open
The frost stayed away and the front nine is open on regular greens. We will monitor the back nine throughout the day.
Friday
This is one of those mornings that the golf blogger loves to hate. It's cold enough for frost but the cloud cover has kept it away so far. If the clouds hang around for a few hours we will be able to start on time on the Glen. However, if the sky clears up anytime soon I can almost guarantee a frost delay. Cross your fingers and enjoy your round.

Thursday
El NiƱo, mel shpeƱo...I liked last winter a lot better than this an El NiƱo year. We have frost and by the way what the heck was that yesterday morning?..just stops raining, clears off, the temperature drops 5 degrees and we get frost ..all in 3 hours...that's just stupid wrong. I wouldn't get too excited about golfing before 11:00 today..Saturday looks like it could be a good golf day, there shouldn't be any frost.

Wednesday
Hallelujah, we have golf...the Glen has thawed out so we will start on time with the greens open. We had 13mm of rain overnight so there will be a couple of puddles around but all in all not too bad..enjoy your round.

Tuesday
With just 3mm of rain overnight our frozen status hasn't changed much but at least we're heading in the right direction...we'll start on temps and wait for the big thaw on the greens.

Monday
-2c at the moment with precipitation (what form is yet to be determined) not far away..if it snows for a bit this morning we could be in trouble, golf wise,today...if it starts raining we could be good to go later this morning, later being the key word. I'll update with good news when it happens.

Sunday
Rain starting tomorrow and continuing for the next 10 days...now depending on what season you hear those words your outlook on a golf game will be formed...this time of year? , music to your ears...I'll update later to see if we can get out on temps but my hopes aren't up too high, we'll probably have to wait for the rain to thaw us out.

Saturday
That chinook we were hoping for didn't come through. The fog did, though, so the sunlight we need wasn't able to... You know where this is going. The practice facility is the place to be today. Heaters, putting stations, a computer simulator to help you iron out your swing - they're all there to keep the rust off for when the course thaws out. See you in there.
Friday, January 8, 2016
Friday
A hair milder this morning but you can still bounce a golf ball off the frozen tee boxes. It'll take a fair bit of sunshine (and a chinook) to get us golfing anywhere but inside the practice facility today. Think warm thoughts and we'll see you out there as soon as we can.

Thursday
Now is a perfect time to come out and work on your game in the comfort of our heated events facility. The fellows in the Proshop will be happy to get you set up on one of our swing analyzers and help correct any flaws, if any, in your swing. Call ahead and make an appointment to avoid congestion issues.

Wednesday
At least we're heading in the right direction..1c and trying to rain... But I don't think it's going to be enough to get the course open today. After today's rain stops there isn't any rain forecast until next week. I hope the sun shines hot and bright or it'll be next week until we get out golfing...stupid winter!!..

There are a few flurries in the area and it looks like we might get some lake affect snow off of the strait... what can I say, it's winter...I'll update around 10:00ish , hopefully with better news.

Saturday
Happy New Year, everyone. As you may have guessed, the course is in one heck of a frozen state to start the year. If the frost lifts today it won't be in the am hours, and at that point I'd put money on the ground remaining too frozen to even get out on temps. Looks like a great day to read the break in your carpet as you practice indoors. See you asap.
