Well that summer sure went fast. Fall is here and with that comes cold weather and with cold weather comes the 'F' word , frost. Yesterday was our first frost delay of the season which was 5 months from our last frost delay in the spring. Canada, eah? Today's frost is much heavier than yesterday's so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get started until 9:30 today(9:30ish). Enjoy your round.

Wow, a brilliant almost full moon with a corresponding cool temperature. I don't think the delay should be too long if any, you know, one of those days. We're poking small holes in the greens on the Glen today so the start will be on the Pines that way there's no interruption to your round. Enjoy the sunshine.

2.5 inches of rain since Wednesday afternoon does not bode well for a full round of golf but I think we can squeeze in 9 holes today. The Pines will be open to foot traffic only as the cart path is impassable in spots. I'd recommend you get your golf in today, by the way: the rain is coming again tomorrow. See you out there.

We're starting off with a bit of frost this morning. I don't think the start time will be delayed but - and there's always a "but" - it depends on what happens with cloud cover in the next hour or so. The question now is whether the rain and/or warmth hits to melt the frost before the scheduled start. When it rains it pours. And it did. Over an inch of rain came at us yesterday, mostly in a sideways fashion, so there will be a few puddles out there today. And to rub salt in the wound the system blew through here overnight and left us with clear skies. You guessed it: FROST. The course continues to drain after the deluge of the other day. The Pines is now open to power carts but the Glen needs a bit longer before it opens for play. 

We're being told to expect light rain and a breeze this morning and some showers this afternoon. The next few days look much better though. Sunshine is on its way.

Not much has changed since yesterday's rather flooded scenario. It takes a while for that much water to drain away, especially with the golf course being the collection area for quite a bit of surrounding land. That said, it'll be another day of golf on the Pines as the Glen isn't yet traversable. Power carts will have to remain parked for the time being. El Niño, mel shpeño...I liked last winter a lot better than this an El Niño year. We have frost and by the way what the heck was that yesterday morning?..just stops raining,clears off, the temperature drops 5 degrees and we get frost ..all in 3 hours...that's just stupid wrong. That chinook we were hoping for didn't come through. The fog did, though, so the sunlight we need wasn't able to...  You know where this is going. The practice facility is the place to be today. Heaters, putting stations, a computer simulator to help you iron out your swing - they're all there to keep the rust off for when the course thaws out. See you in there.

A hair milder this morning but you can still bounce a golf ball off the frozen tee boxes. It'll take a fair bit of sunshine (and a chinook) to get us golfing anywhere but inside the practice facility today. Think warm thoughts and we'll see you out there as soon as we can.

Happy New Year, everyone. As you may have guessed, the course is in one heck of a frozen state to start the year. If the frost lifts today it won't be in the am hours, and at that point I'd put money on the ground remaining too frozen to even get out on temps.
